About This Option

Breakout Zones give teams space to think, chat and reset without booking a formal room, and they work best when placed deliberately: close enough to workstations to actually get used, far enough that conversation does not disturb focus areas. We design a mix of settings rather than one type, combining soft lounge seating for informal talk, a high table with stools for stand-up discussions, and one or two semi-enclosed pods for calls. Materials are chosen for heavy traffic with stain-resistant upholstery, durable laminate tops and flooring that takes constant chair movement. Power and USB points are built into tables and seating because people bring laptops into these spaces. Acoustic separation is handled with planters, upholstered screens or slatted partitions rather than solid walls, so the zone stays open without leaking noise. Lighting is warmer and lower than the workstation area, which signals the change of use without any signage.
