About This Option

A cove ceiling is designed around the light rather than the other way round: a recessed pocket is formed at the perimeter or in bands, and an LED strip inside washes light onto the ceiling so the room is lit indirectly with no visible fixture and no glare. Dimensions decide whether it succeeds - we hold pocket depth at roughly 100mm to 150mm and set the strip back far enough from the lip that the diodes are never in view, otherwise the ceiling shows a dotted line instead of a smooth wash. Strips are specified by lumen output and colour temperature to suit the room, run on a dimmable driver, and the driver is placed where it can be reached because it is the component most likely to need replacement. Warm white suits bedrooms and living rooms, while neutral white works better over dining and study areas. Cove lighting is the most cost-effective way to make a plain room feel finished, and it works with any ceiling material.
