About This Option
A kids bedroom has to change as the child does, so we design it for the next several years rather than the current age. Storage is planned at two heights - low open shelves and drawers the child can reach independently, and upper closed storage that parents control - with adjustable wardrobe internals that shift from short hanging to full length as clothes grow. Study space is built in with a desk depth that fits a laptop and books, task lighting positioned to avoid shadow on the writing hand, and cable routing kept out of reach. Finishes are selected for durability and safety: scratch-resistant laminates, rounded edge banding, soft-close hardware that protects fingers, and low-VOC adhesives. Beds can be single, bunk or hydraulic storage type depending on room size and whether siblings share. Colour is applied through changeable elements such as wallpaper, panels and textiles so the room can be updated later without redoing the joinery.
